For over ten years, DerwentCoshott.com was a happily, albeit infrequently updated, blog on Blogger; and there it would've stayed if I could've figured out how to make it display pages how I wanted.
But I couldn't and so DerwentCoshott.com has a new look, and a new purpose. While I will occasionally post my thoughts about legal matters, generally I find LinkedIn a better place for that. This means that DerwentCoshott.com will no longer be a blog, but a website through which I can promote myself, my activities, and, most importantly, my services.
If you look either at the top or bottom of the page, you will see a link entitled "Workshops and Seminars". This will take you to a new endeavour, yet one I've also been doing for a long time. That is teaching the law; only instead of only doing it just through a university, I am now offering bespoke legal training workshops and seminars for businesses who want their staff to be legally armed.
What do I mean by that? Everyone needs to know and, most importantly, understand the law.
In my everyday life, I've seen countless examples of people and businesses getting themselves into trouble because they haven't known what the law is that applies to them until its too late.
What is too late? Usually when you think, "Hmm, I think I need to see a lawyer..."
This is costly and easily avoided if businesses just knew, for example, how to properly read contracts, or how certain regulatory regimes (*cough* anti-money laundering/counter-terrorism financing *cough*) applied to them.
I've spent years teaching these things to non-law students, and am fairly excellent at it; so you should definitely take advantage of that.
I am available to give workshops and seminars on:
Contract law (particularly sale of land contracts);
Trusts (private and charitable);
Misleading or Deceptive Conduct;
Anti-Money Laundering/Counter-Terrorism Financing ("AML/CTF"); and
Property Law
If you are interested in speaking with me about this, please reach out via the Contact Form, or you're welcome to contact me through LinkedIn.
Wish me all the best!
