Solicitor and Senior Lecturer in Law, The University of Sydney Law School
I am a lawyer and academic, with over a decade of teaching and research experience.
I am an expert in the fields of trust law, anti-money laundering/counter-terrorism financing, and sale of land contracts.
I am a co-author of Sale of Land in NSW, a leading legal text on the law of conveyancing; and am the sole-author of the upcoming Anti-Money Laundering and Counter-Terrorism Financing Law in Australia, which is the only book of its kind to comprehensively cover and explain both the regulatory and criminal AML/CTF legal regimes.
I am a frequently sought after expert by the Australian and international media; having been interviewed on dozens of occasions by new organisations such as Nine Entertainment, News Corp, the ABC, the Guardian, and others.
I have also given expert advice to the NSW Parliament on draft legislation, and have consulted with businesses and other organisations on various legal matters. For instance, I served as the legal expert in briefings given to the media regarding Andrew "Twiggy" Forrest's private prosecution of Facebook.
Finally, I am a solicitor, practising on a pro bono basis for the Welfare Rights Centre, a not-for-profit community legal centre, which helps clients unable to afford legal advice in navigating Australia's social security system.
